During the past year, the expert group on digitalization has worked together to identify the current status, challenges, and opportunities in the context of data specifications for battery manufacturing digitalization. The publication presents the parameters involved in each step of LIB manufacturing, shows available computational modeling approaches, and discusses details about practical implementation in terms of software. These parameters are further analyzed regarding their criticality for modeling set-up and validation, measurement accuracy, and rapidity. Finally, the challenges of managing the data produced by these models is presented. As a snapshot of the state-of-the-art, this work is an initial step towards digitalizing battery manufacturing pilot lines, paving the way toward autonomous optimization.
